چکیده

Existing IEEE software reliability standards do not address the characteristics of distributed systems, including client-server systems. Furthermore, these standards were issued before the widespread application of COTS and safety-critical systems. In addition, these standards do not take into account the influence on reliability of such process improvement measures as inspections, reuse, and object-oriented design paradigms. Lastly, these standards do not consider both hardware and software reliability nor do they include availability and maintainability. To be of value, the next generation of dependability standards must address these deficiencies. With the active participation of the audience, the panel will identify and debate the future direction of dependability standards. Panel participants are the

High Performance Computing in Dependable Space Systems

Next generation space-based systems will necessitate onboard high performance computing, which is the key to enabling spacecraft autonomy, onboard sensor/science data processing, and multi-spacecraft interactive-cooperative robotics. For example, while conceptually straightforward, “Internet in the sky” communications will require multiple GOPS (giga-operation per second) to perform high-speed ...

Good Laboratory Standards for Clinical Next-Generation Sequencing Cancer Panel Tests

Next-generation sequencing (NGS) has recently emerged as an essential component of personalized cancer medicine due to its high throughput and low per-base cost. However, no sufficient guidelines for implementing NGS as a clinical molecular pathology test are established in Korea. To ensure clinical grade quality without inhibiting adoption of NGS, a taskforce team assembled by the Korean Socie...

Next-Generation Sequencing Reveals One Novel Missense Mutation in COL1A2 Gene in an Iranian Family with Osteogenesis imperfecta

Background: Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) is a clinically and genetically heterogeneous disorder characterized by bone loss and bone fragility. The aim of this study was to investigate the variants of three genes involved in the pathogenesis of OI. Methods: Molecular genetic analyses were performed for COL1A1, COL1A2, and CRTAP genes in an Iranian family with OI. The DNA samples were analyzed by...
